Chanting mantra is a very effective tool to draw our attention away from our ordinary preoccupations, to elevate our mood, to connect to a greater feeling of wholeness ✨
Sat Nam is the most widely used mantra in the practice of Kundalini Yoga. Sat Nam means Truth is my identity. I call upon the eternal Truth that resides in all of us. Chanting this mantra awakens the soul.
Chanting helps me get to a good place.
We all need to get to a good place!

Don’t Waste Your Breath! So don’t let your li Don’t Waste Your Breath!
So don’t let your life take your breath away. Do the reverse: add breath to your life. Mindful breathing. Focused breathing. When you commit to a habit of checking in with yourself and then employing healthy breathing techniques, you will have developed skills and strategies for your life, off the yoga mat, at your desk, in the kitchen, at a gathering, or during a heated conversation. You get the point.
Don’t waste your (very precious) breath!

“Yoga” encompasses a great many things, includ “Yoga” encompasses a great many things, including pranayama (or breathwork), meditation, mindfulness, physical asana (or postures), philosophical ideas, and so much more. So there are countless techniques that you can borrow from the yogic catalog to support you in times of need.
Calming breathing is a simple and actionable pranayama practice, it will calm the mind (a great prep for meditation) and help to diminish cravings and desires.
✨Find a comfortable position. You may wish to sit on a chair or the floor. Close your eyes and draw your awareness inward.
✨Start to listen to the sound of your own breath, without trying to change or control its rhythm.
✨After listening to your natural breath for a short time, slowly begin to deepen your inhalations and your exhalations. Take two full deep breaths.
✨Draw air in through your nose for a slow count of four and then hold for two counts (no secret breathing) release air out through your nose for a slow count of four. Inhale four, pause two, exhale four. Continue at a comfortable rhythm.
✨Count the breath for about two minutes, or until you feel yourself calming. Take two full breaths, and then return to your natural breath.
Feel free to increase the ratio when it feels appropriate, for example a 6-3-6 or 8-4-8 ratio.
I love this practice, it immediately draws you into the present moment and focuses your awareness on something that is both tangible and serene. It’s safe, gentle, and is one of the fastest ways to calm and soothe your mind, plus heal your nervous system, so you can enjoy your day!
Let me know how it goes…

We have the power to age well…it just takes a li We have the power to age well…it just takes a little insight, effort, and of course, the right mindset.
Since I plan to live to 100, and I plan to do it well, I have a routine in place to help me maintain my strength, mobility and positivity.
Yoga practices play an integral part. Yoga, especially when practiced mindfully, is a healthy habit that feeds the body and mind simultaneously.
The choices we make for our health today will define our ability to stay active, sharp, present, and independent tomorrow.
Until next week, have an amazing weekend!
